LOUIS VUITTON’S GRAND SHOW: To commemorate the opening of its new store in Vienna, the French luxury giant co-hosted a dinner alongside contemporary art figure Francesca von Habsburg. “I tried it on and I realized you need my color of hair to pull it off. It’s a very unusual piece. I call it the Klimt coat — it reminds me of his paintings,” Von Habsburg said, noting that Vuitton’s store is part of a new luxury shopping hub set in Vienna’s historical center. “With all the geographical and political changes that have gone on in the last 20 years, there is a huge drive. It shows me that Vienna is coming into another Golden Age.”

WALK THIS WAY: Manolo Blahnik loves style but recently revealed his pet peeve when it comes to stilettos: Women who are unable to wear them gracefully. “I love exaggerated, and I love eccentric, but you must be comfortable. Otherwise it is nonsense. There is nothing charming about a woman who cannot walk in her shoes.” The popular designer then offered up his definition of perfection: “Do you know who I think looks wonderful? In Bath, there is a woman who always passes by my house. She wears twinsets, and usually a tweed pleated skirt. Not terribly expensive but good quality, and she always looks just perfect. To me, that’s fabulous.”

JIMMY CHOO HEARTS ROB PRUITT: Jimmy Choo connected with artist Rob Pruitt for an artsy collection that is being described by some as a whimsical offering that references Pruitt’s art influences. “I always feel like an 11-year-old girl,” said Pruitt. “I love stickers and I love Lisa Frank. I love glitter. I like playing dolls. I like being true to myself, so I think that it just turned out. It’s like Lisa Frank, but it’s also totally me, and those are the things I love.” Jimmy Choo creative director Sandra Choi backed the label’s decision to work with Pruitt: “I love the fact that he draws attention to something that is quite innocent and pure, like the pandas,” she told ARTINFO. “The fact that he uses the glitter on the pandas, to actually draw attention to something that is quite vulnerable is incredible, and glitter is a material that we use a lot at Jimmy Choo.”
